Music has always been a passion of producer and founder of Reade Street Records Randy Knaflic.  Founded in 2003, Reade Street Records was a pet project that grew out of a simple idea to record Randy’s jazz mentor and dear friend Charles Davis. Charles’ talents with the tenor and baritone saxophones is highlighted through the album Blue Gardenia.  Recorded with the late, great Cedar Walton, Peter Washington and Joe Farnsworth, this project garnered widespread attention including a New York Times Critic’s Pick mention.  10 years later, this CD continues to sell to jazz fans around the world.

Read Street Records is excited to release a follow-up with For the Love of Lori, a powerful recording featuring Charles Davis in a sextet setting. Joining him for this 2014 release is pianist Rick Germanson, trumpeter Joe Magnarelli, trombonist Steve Davis, drummer Neal Smith and bassist David Williams.

We hope you enjoy this labor of love and appreciate your support of independent jazz labels like Reade Street Records.
